化学性质 

一种甲基纤维素的丙二醇醚，其中羟丙基和甲基都由醚键与纤维素的无水葡萄糖环相结合。不同类型的产品，其甲氧基和羟丙基含量比例不同。白色至灰白色纤维状粉末或颗粒。

溶于水和某些有机溶剂。不溶于乙醇，水溶液具有表面活性，干燥后形成薄膜，经加热和冷却，依次经历从溶胶至凝胶的可逆转变。

A propylene alcohol ether methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl and methyl all by ether bonds combined with anhydrous glucose ring of cellulose.
